The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team will host Merrimack College in the regular season finale on Friday night.

The Owls will recognize seniors,

Victor Hernandez and
Chris Rybacki during the Senior Night ceremony prior to Friday night's game.
FINDING THE BACK OF THE NET
Sophomore midfielder
Ross McGibney is tied for the lead in the Northeast-10 Conference in goals with eight on the season. McGibney leads the conference in goals per game, as he has scored eight goals in 11 games for an average of 0.73. The sophomore is also tied for the conference lead in game-winning goals, with four.
STINGY DEFENSE… PART 2
The Owls are near the top of the Northeast-10 Conference in a number of defensive categories as they are second in goals allowed, with six and goals against average, as they have only given up 0.38 goals per game. SCSU goalkeeper's

Andrew Esposito have helped the defense as well as they have combined for eight shutouts this season.
BETWEEN THE PIPES… PART 2
Junior goalkeeper
Andrew Esposito is in the top two in the Northeast-10 Conference in numerous goalkeeping categories. Esposito leads the league in shutouts per game as he has five shutouts in eight games, averaging 0.62, and he is tied for first in saves per game, with an average of 5.75 stops through eight starts this season. He is currently second in shutouts, with five.
LANG EARNS 200TH WIN WITH OWLS
Head coach
Tom Lang recorded his 200th career win at SCSU on Sept. 4 with the 2-1 win over Caldwell.
PICKING UP WHERE THEY LEFT OFF
Paul Templeton and
Harry Appiah, two of the team's top returning scorers from a year ago, both registered goals over the course of the opening two games.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
SCSU starts the year with five matches away from home - two neutral site and three road contests. The home opener is on Sept. 22 against New Haven.
RETURNING A STRONG NUCLEUS
The Owls have a great veteran presence this year with 13 returning players from last year's club.

Southern Connecticut was selected fourth in the 2010 Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer coaches' preseason poll.

CREATING OPPORTUNITIES
Seth Ragaini handed out seven assists in 2009, which was good enough for first place on the team and in the Northeast-10 Conference.
TEMPLETON EXCELLING IN ALL FACETS
Paul Templeton was selected to the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Soccer All-Academic Team following the conclusion of the 2009 season. Student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 to be eligible for consideration.
A HALF DOZEN ALL-CONFERENCE PICKS BACK
Six student-athletes who were recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference at the conclusion of last year's are back this season.

Paul Templeton were named to the All-Conference squads, while Frank Lara and
Seth Ragaini were both All-Rookie Team picks.
ECAC RECOGNITION
Yoni Feldman and
Paul Templeton are returning All-ECAC selections from a year ago.
REGIONAL ACCOLADES CONTINUE
Three Owls returning in 2010 -
Harry Appiah,
Victor Hernandez and
Paul Templeton - collected All-Region honors at the conclusion of the 2009 season.
TOURNAMENT FINALISTS
The Owls reached the finals of the 2009 Northeast-10 Conference Tournament, where they were edged by a nationally ranked LeMoyne squad on the road, 2-1.
