NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Sophomore setter
Kimberly Lachowicz (Mansfield, Texas) handed out a match-high 25 assists as the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team swept Concordia College, 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-19) on Monday night at Pelz Gym. With the win the Owls improve to 9-7 on the season, while Concordia drops to 3-9 on the year.
The Owls jumped out to an early 9-3 lead in the first set, and would outscore Concordia by a lone point the remainder of the opening frame to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
SCSU jumped out to an 18-11 lead in the second set, before a steady effort put them up, 2-0.
The home team would put Concordia away in the third set, as they took the deciding frame 25-19.

Lauren McVey had a team-high seven kills for the Owls.
Junior outside hitter
Megan Lyons and freshman outside hitter
Sarah Beres each recorded six kills, while
Megan Hiss delivered five kills of her own in the winning effort.
Sophomore libero
Vanessa Sullivan reached double-figures with 13 digs in the SCSU's win.
Hillary Hoffman had 22 assists, while Chelsea Zulcher, Juliann Gillespie and Amanda Margedant each record six kills for Concordia.
The Owls return to action on Wednesday when they travel to take on cross-town rival New Haven.
