NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team defeated Bridgeport 1-0 in Wednesday night's non-conference soccer game. With the win the Owls improve to 8-2 on the season, while Bridgeport drops to 5-5 on the year.
Following a scoreless first half, the Owls finally broke through with the first goal of the game just 6:50 into the second frame. Junior forward
Cedric Panzu (Mos-En-Barouel, France) received a pass from Senior midfielder
Victor Hernandez (Rye Brook, N.Y.) and ripped it into the back of the net to put SCSU ahead 1-0.
Junior goalkeeper
Andrew Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) made five saves in the win for the Owls.
For Bridgeport, Goalkeeper Milos Suljagic made four saves.
The Owls return to action when they host Bentley on Saturday.
