NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team fell to Bentley in penalty kicks in a Northeast-10 Conference Tournament semifinal match on Friday at Jess Dow Field. The two teams played to a 2-2 draw through regulation and two sudden death overtime periods. However, Bentley outscored the Owls in penalty kicks, 5-3. The contest goes in the books as a tie, which moves Southern Connecticut to 13-2-3 overall. The Owls will now wait for the NCAA Tournament pairings to be announced.

Harry Appiah (Pawtucket, R.I.) got the Owls on the board first when
Yoni Feldman (Ramat Gan, Israel) found Appiah open at the 26:38 mark. Southern went into half with a 1-0 lead and 6-0 advantage in shots.
As SCSU continued to dominate the game in the second half, Appiah found
Doural Scott (New Haven, Conn.) who then booted the ball into the back of the net at the 66th minute, which seemed to put the game out of reach.
In the 74th minute, Bentley struck with force when Matt Solomon changed the momentum of the game as he scored Bentley's first goal, assisted by Ryan Miamis.
Five minutes later, the Falcons tied the game when Chris Gardner headed the ball into the goal off a corner kick by Brennan DaCosta.
