Kimberly Lachowicz (Mansfield, Texas) dished out 22 assists and
Megan Lyons (Cold Spring, N.Y.) recorded nine kills to lead the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team past Nyack, 3-1, on Tuesday night at Pelz Gym. With the win the Owls improve to 4-3 on the season.
Leading two games to one, the Owls responded with a pivotal 25-20 win in the fourthset. Following a 25-20 loss in the first set, Nyack won the second set in dramatic fashion, 31-29.
With the match tied one set a piece, the Owls won the third set convincigly, 25-15. SCSU received a large contribution from
Lauren McVey (Badlwinsville, N.Y.), who had six killsfor the Owls.
Megan Hiss (Trinidad, Colo.) added a sizable contribution to the Owls' victory, recording five kills and handing out two assists.
The Warriors received large contributions from Moana Masonai, who had a game-high 16 kills, along with Amelia Moore, who recorded 13 kills of her own.
SCSU returns to action on Thursday when it travels to Post.
