SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Southern Connecticut State University volleyball dropped its Northeast-10 Conference match to AIC, 3-1 (25-16, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19). With the loss the Owls dropped to 7-6 on the year, and 1-2 in NE-10 play, while AIC improved to 9-8 on the season, 3-3 in the NE-10.
AIC won the first set convincingly, 25-16, before taking the second set, 25-22.
The Owls were able to push the match to a fourth set, after winning a hard fought third set, 25-19.
SCSU was unable to complete the comeback as AIC won the fourth set, 25-19, and the match, 3-1.
Elisa Terry recorded a double-double with 16 kills and 10 digs in the winning effort.
Keziah Kashoush and Blair Havron each recorded 10 kills for AIC.
Kervelle Redhead had a match-high 49 assists for the Yellow Jackets in the win.
For the Owls,
Megan Lyons (Cold Spring, N.Y.) fell one kill short of a double-double, as she recorded nine kills and 11 digs.
Junior outside hitter
Megan Hiss (Trinidad, Colo.) recorded nine kills for the SCSU.
Owls sophomore setter
Kimberly Lachowicz (Mansfield, Texas) dished out a team-high 34 assists.
The Owls return to action when they host Southern New Hampshire on Friday.
