THE WEEK AHEAD
The No. 25 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team prepares for two games with regional and national implications this week. The Owls will travel to UMass-Lowell on Tuesday at 7 p.m. before returning home to face No. 18 nationally ranked Merrimack on Saturday at 7 p.m.
REGIONAL MATCHUPS
SCSU brings a No. 4 NSCAA regional ranking into its game against No. 5 regionally ranked UMass-Lowell, followed by another close matchup against No. 3 regionally ranked Merrimack.
OWLS EARN NE-10 HONORS
Jacquelyn Fede,
Lisamarie Tarchini and
Jenna Mallico were all recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference for their play last week. Fede was named Goalie of the Week, Tarchini was named Defensive Player of the Week, and Mallico was named to the weekly honor roll.
IN THE NATIONAL, REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Owls were ranked No. 25 in the latest NSCAA national poll and were ranked No. 4 in the NSCAA East region poll last week.
AGAINST THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS
The Owls bring an all-time record of 8-5-1 into the game against UMass-Lowell and a 6-7-0 all-time record against Merrimack.
PROTECTING THEIR HOUSE
The Owls have been perfect at home thus far, going 6-0 while not surrendering a goal.
TARCHINI SETS CAREER MARK
Lisamarie Tarchini has set a career-high in points this season with eight on four goals scored.
MALLICO LOCKED IN
Jenna Mallico followed up last season's hat trick against Bentley by scoring two more goals against the Falcons in last week's game. She now has three goals and an assist on the year.
IN THE NORTHEAST-10 PRESEASON POLL
The Owls were picked eighth in the Northeast-10 Conference Coaches' preseason poll. SCSU just missed out on the league tournament in 2010.
LOTS OF RETURNING TALENT
The Owls have 16 players returning to the field this season.

LOOKING BACK AT 2010
The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team capped off the 2010 season with an overall mark of 8-6-3. The Owls were regionally ranked for most of the campaign.
TWO EARN ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

Sarah Brochu were all selected All-New England for their play during the 2010 season.
FARING WELL IN THE CLASSROOM
In 2010, 14 members of the women's soccer team were selected to the Northeast-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
SUCCESS AS A TEAM AS WELL
The Owls were also recognized with the National Soccer
Coaches Association of America Academic Team Award for posting a cumulative team grade point average of greater than 3.0.
