Men's Soccer Closes Regular Season With 2-1 Win At Bentley

Cedric Panzu had the game-winning goal on Friday.
WALTHAM, Mass. - Senior Cedric Panzu (Mons-En-Baroeul, France) scored the game-winning goal in the 51st minute as the Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team closed the regular season with a 2-1 win at Bentley on Friday.

The Owls head into next week's Northeast-10 Conference Tournament with an 8-7-1 overall mark and are 7-5-1 in league play. Bentley is 9-6-2, 7-5-1. The Owls' seeding in the tournament is still to be determined at this point.

Bentley struck first on a goal in the 13th minute. However, the Owls quickly answered on a goal by Paul Templeton (Saltcoats, Scotland) in the 30th minute.

The game remained deadlocked at halftime, but Panzu snapped the tie just 5:31 after intermission to give the Owls the lead for good.

Keeper Andrew Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) made one save to record the win.

The Owls are back in action on Tuesday for a Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinal road contest.
