NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team came back from a 2-0 second half deficit to defeat St. Anselm in overtime, 3-2. The Owls scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to bring the game into overtime and
Paul Templeton (Saltcoats, Scotland) connected with 3:03 remaining in the first overtime to score the game-winner for Southern.
The Hawks got out to an early lead putting up two goals in the first period.
Jon Eckford (Bradenton, Fla.) started the scoring for the Owls before
Doural Scott (New Haven, Conn.) tied the game when he caught a pass from
Luke Perry (Macclesfield, England) from 25 yards out and walked in untouched before burying the ball in the back of the net.

Andrew Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) stopped four shots on net.
The Owls improve to 5-5 on the season and 4-3 in Northeast-10 Conference play with the win.
The next contest for the Owls will be in Springfield, Mass. when they travel to play American International College on October 11. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
