The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team returns to action with a pair of Northeast-10 Conference games this week. The Owls will host Pace on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., followed by a road game at AIC on Saturday beginning at 1:30 p.m.

CAMILLE IN THE CLUTCH
Trailing by two with four seconds remaining against St. Rose, Camille Fantini connected on a game-winning three pointer as the Owls defeated the previously unbeaten Golden Knights, 64-63, on Sunday afternoon. Fantini finished the game with a career high 16 points and added five rebounds.

SMITH-OCRAN'S CAREER DAY
Moni Smith-Ocran was instrumental in the victory over St. Rose, as she posted career highs in scoring and rebounding with a 21-point, 17-rebound performance.

ASSIST TO ALLEN
Lauren Allen dished out a career-high seven assists in the win over St. Rose.

FIOLA FOR THREE
Twenty-seven of Alex Fiola's 39 field goal attempts have been three pointers this year.

HOME COOKIN'
The Owls are 2-0 in games played at Moore Field House this season.

DOMINATING THE GLASS
The Owls have outrebounded their opponents in all four games that they have played this season.

ALL-TIME AGAINST THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS
The Owls bring a 16-12 all-time record into their game against Pace, and head into Saturday's matchup with AIC with a 12-18 all-time series record.

IN THE NE-1O PRESEASON POLL
The Owls have been selected 13th in the Northeast-10 Conference preseason poll.

MOORE EARNS NE-10 HONORS
Sylvonya Moore was named to the Northeast-10 Conference weekly honor roll for her play against Adelphi and St. Thomas Aquinas. She averaged 19 points per game and totaled nine steals, seven rebounds and eight assists.

LOOKING BACK AT THE YEAR THAT WAS
The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team concluded its 2010-11 season with 11 wins. The Owls just missed a Northeast-10 Tournament berth.

GOOD THINGS HAPPEN WHEN YOU PLAY DEFENSE
The equation was pretty straightforward for the Owls this year - strong defensive efforts translated into victories in 2010-11. Southern Connecticut allowed just 49.5 points per game in its 11 wins and merited 68.5 points per game in its 15 losses. The Owls didn't allow more than 60 points in any win, but allowed more than that figure in 13 of their 16 losses.

COMMUNITY SERVICE CUP WINNERS
The team won the Tim Greer Insurance Agency Inc. Community Service Cup for their efforts during the 2010-11 academic year.

COMMUNITY RECOGNITION
The 2010-11 squad was recognized by the Connecticut Department of Higher Education for their outstanding community service efforts. Head coach Meghan Brown and captain Alex Fiola attended an event in Hartford to receive formal recognition for their efforts in April.

CLEANING THE GLASS
The Owls ranked first in the league in 2010-11 in offensive rebounds/game (15.62) and second in the Northeast-10 Conference in rebounding offense (40.3 per game).

ON DECK
The Owls will travel to face Le Moyne on Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m.
