Rheyna Steinauer earned the 2026 Women's Basketball Coaches Association NCAA Division II Coaches' All-America Honorable Mention, as announced by the WBCA on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches' All-America honorable mention team are selected by the WBCA NCAA Division II Awards Committee from coaches and student-athletes who are nominated by WBCA member coaches. This is the first WBCA recognition for
Rheyna Steinauer in her career and is the second straight season that Southern Connecticut has had a player receive an WBCA All-America honorable mention, after
Delaney Haines earned the honor in the 2024-25 season.
Rheyna Steinauer had an impressive season for Southern Connecticut, in addition to the WBCA All-America Honorable Mention, she also earned 2025-26 All-Northeast 10 Conference First Team honors, 2025-26 D2CCA East Region Second Team honors and 2026 NCAA East Region All-Tournament Team honors. Steinauer scored the most points in the Northeast 10 Conference with 466 points, averaged 15.0 points per game, was ranked third in the NE10 in free-throw percentage with 82% and was ranked fourth in three-point field goal percentage with 38%. In addition, she recorded the most 30+ point performances in the NE10 this season, with three.
Steinauer scored a career-best of 31 points, as she was 12-for-18 from the floor, 4-for-6 from beyond the arc, 3-for-3 from the free-throw line and grabbed five boards in the victory against American International. She totaled a career-best of six assists, made five, three-pointers, had three steals and a block on Senior Day in a victory against Saint Michael's. Steinauer had three double-doubles this season, against Mercy, Staten Island and Adelphi.
