NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team suffered a tough loss against AIC, 71-61 on Saturday, snapping a four-game winning streak. Senior center Shelley Pierson (Watervliet, N.Y.) led the team with 15 points and nine boards.

Sophomore forward Keshia Primo (Mississauga, Ontario) helped the Owls with 10 points and freshman Moni Smith-Ocran (Bronx, N.Y.) added seven points and six rebounds. SCSU's record stands at 10-14 and 6-13 in Northeast-10 Conference play.

The Owls will return home Wednesday, February 16 when they face Adelphi University. The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
