Despite Late Rally, No. 25 Dowling Holds Off Men's Soccer, 4-2
OAKDALE, N.Y. – A late second half rally came up short for the Southern Men's Soccer Team as No. 25 Nationally Ranked Dowling defeated The Owls 4-2 Tuesday night.

Senior Jeremy Tavares (Waterbury, Conn.) notched his first goal of the season, as he scored off a cross from Doural Scott (New Haven, Conn.) in the 12th minute.

Southern's Cedric Panzu (Mons-En-Baroeul, France) headed home a late second half goal in the 88th minute assisted by Jon Eckford (Bradenton, Fla.)

Southern goalkeeper Andrew Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) recorded five saves.

The Owls are back in action Wednesday, Sept. 21 away against The University of New Haven
