WEST HAVEN, Conn. –  Junior Francisco Lara (Laredo, Texas) netted both goals for the Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team as it defeated the University of New Haven, 2-0, on Wednesday night.



The Owls improved to 3-2 overall, 2-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play.

Lara scored his first goal of the season in the 44th minute assisted by Luke Perry (Macclesfield, England). Lara scored again in the 53rd minute of the second half after receiving a nice feed and tucking it past the keeper.

Andrew Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) recorded two saves for the Owls in posting the shutout.

The Owls will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 24 at against St. Michael's College at 3 p.m.
