Final Meet Results
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming and diving team had strong efforts but came up short, falling 160-123 to Marist College Saturday afternoon.
Senior
Austin Mizzell (Bristol, Conn.) helped pace the Owls with three first place finishes in the 200 yard freestyle (1:46.29) the 100 yard breaststroke (100:20) and the 200 breaststroke (2:08.91). Classmate
Matthew Sorena (Brookfield, Conn.) added a first place finish in the 1650 freestyle with a final time of 16:35.51. Sorena also added a first place finish in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:15.98. Sophomore
Oscar Castillo (Norwalk) added a first place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:59.12.
Senior
Miguel Nesrala (Santo Domingo, D.R) took first in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 48.32 Nesrala also chipped in with a pair of second place finishes in the 100 yard backstroke (53.78) and the 50 yard freestyle (22.43).
The Owls are back in action Sunday, Jan. 15 against Connecticut College at 1 p.m.
