NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University (8-6-1, 6-6-1 NE-10) men's soccer team honored it's seniors on Friday night, but came up short as they fell to Bentley University (10-4-2, 8-3-2 NE-10) 1-0 in the regular season finale.
The goal came in the 58th minute when Bentley's Brennan DaCosta received a touch pass on a two on none break away and put it past Southern's goalkeeper
Stephen Sasso (Orange, Conn.) to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead, which proved to be the difference in the game.
Senior
Mario DiMiceli (Vilers-Le-Bouillet, Belgium) recorded a team high four shots and senior
Mario Costa (Pawcatuck, Conn.) recorded three.
The Owls outshot the Falcons by an 18-4 margin, but Bentley's goalkeeper Alex Pilitsis made nine saves in the effort.
Southern will be back in action as they start the Northeast-10 Conference tournament on Monday, Oct. 29.
