RINDGE, N.H. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team fell 3-1 Wednesday night on the road at Franklin Pierce. Senior
Francisco Lara (Laredo, Texas) scored the only goal for the Owls as they were served their third loss of the season.
The game was even until the 33
rd minute when the Ravens Nico Mueller dribbled a pass in front and fired it into to the lower right corner of the net to give Franklin Pierce a 1-0 lead. SCSU wouldn't get on the board until the 73
rd minute when Lara received a corner from
Mario DiMiceli (Vilers-Le-Bouillet, Belguim) and put it past the Ravens goalkeeper to tie the score at one.
Franklin Pierce would answer two minutes later with a goal from Ryan Ruffing and then Marc Santos would put another away in the 81
st minute to give the Ravens a 3-1 lead with under nine minutes play.
SCSU falls to 4-3-1 on the season and is looking to snap a three game skid as they travel to Saint Anselm on Saturday to take on the Hawks at 1 p.m.
