Mario DiMiceli (Vilers-Le-Bouillet, Belguim) scored his sixth goal of the year just 4:34 into play, but the St. Anselm men's soccer team scored the final three goals of the match to claim a 3-1 win over Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday.
The Owls are now 4-4-1 overall and 3-4-1 in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Hawks are 4-6-1, 4-3 in league action.
DiMiceli's tally came off a pass from
Ross McGibney (Dublin, Ireland) and quickly put the Owls on top.
However, the Hawks countered with two goals in just 43 seconds near the midway point of the opening half, and added another in the final two minutes of the stanza to carry a 3-1 lead into halftime.
The Owls are back in action on Tuesday for a home match against AIC.
