NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore
Raymond Cswerko (Torrington, Conn) and freshman
Louis Geist (Aravada, Colo.) both finished with two first-place marks for the Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming and diving team on Saturday as they fell to the College of New Jersey in a dual meet at Hutchinson Natatorium, 172-99.
Cswerko took first in the men's 100 yard breaststroke in 58.09 and the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:07.64. Geist finished first in the 200 butterfly taking the event in 1:59.92 and the men's 500 yard freestyle in 4:47.01. Geist also finished with a second-place mark in the 1000 yard freestyle in 9:49.88.
Junior
Oscar Castillo (Norwalk, Conn.) finished a strong day with two second-place marks in the 200 yard butterfly and the 200 yard backstroke. He finished the two events in 2:00.78 and 1:59.90, respectively. Sophomore
Jared Thurston (Wallingford, Conn.) finished with a third-place mark on Saturday, touching the wall in 22.15.
Freshman diver John Buehler (Wallingford, Conn.) took both the one-meter and three-meter dive events at the meet.
The Owls will be back in action on Jan 12 when they travel to Marist at 1 p.m.
