Men's Basketball Defeats New Haven, 66-51

WEST HAVEN, Conn. - Sophomore Dominique Langston (Bridgeport, Conn.) led four Owls in double digits with 16 points as the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team captured a 66-51 win over the University of New Haven on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls improved to 13-12 overall and 11-10 in Northeast-10 Conference play with the win. UNH dropped to 14-11, 10-11 in NE-10 action.

Greg Langston (Stratford, Conn.) added 14 points for the Owls, while Trevon Hamlet (Brooklyn, N.Y.) contributed 13 points and nine rebounds. Tylon Smith  (Manchester, Conn.) chipped in a dozen points for the Owls.

UNH went up 1-0 in the opening minutes but the Owls never trailed again. The Owls held their largest lead of the half at the intermission, in which they went in with a 35-28 advantage.

SCSU pulled away from the Chargers in the second half. They led by as many as 19 and went on to the 15-point win.

The Owls close the regular season on Tuesday night with a road game at Adelphi.
