Owls Fall Short at LeMoyne, 2-1

The Owls fell 2-1 today at LeMoyne.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team were handed its first loss of the season falling to LeMoyne College, 2-1 on Tuesday night. LeMoyne's Casey Murphy scored his fifth goal of the year in the 87th minute to lift the Dolphins past the Owls.

The Owls would strike first in the 32nd minute when Daquan King (Plainville, Conn.) scored an unassisted goal giving him three on the season. SCSU would take a 1-0 lead going into half time. Zachary MacNabb would get LeMoyne on the board in the 62nd minute evening the score at one apiece. The game would stay that way until late in the second half when Murphy would push across the game winning goal in the 87th minute.

The Owls outshot the Dolphins by a 13-8 margin.

SCSU drops to 4-1-1 on the season and will host Merrimack College Sunday at 1 p.m.
