Swimming and Diving Results
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Sophomore
Raymond Cswerko (Torrington, Conn.) finished with three first-place finishes as the Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming and diving fell to Marist, 168-118, on Saturday afternoon.
Cswerko finished first in the 200 yard freestyle in 1:46.05, the 100 yard freestyle in 48.52 and the 100 yard butterfly in 52.59. Freshman
Louis Geist (Arvada, Colo.) also had a strong day finishing with two first-place marks and second place finish. He took the 400 yard IM in 4:18.78 and was on the first-place 200 freestyle relay team along with
Daniel Gallup (Milford, Conn.),
Austin McMahon (Southbury, Conn.) and
Jared Thurston (Wallingford, Conn.).
In addition, Thurston finished with a second-place mark in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.76. Gallup also had a third-place mark in the 1650 butterfly, finishing the event in 17:37.13.
Domenick Errico (West Hartford, Conn.) finished the day with two third-place finishes in the 500 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke.
Joseph Polaco (Waterbury, Conn.) also competed in the 500 yard freestyle event finishing ahead of Errico in second-place with a time of 5:04.40.
Junior
Jimmy Zummo ( Stockholm, N.J.) finished Saturday with two third-marks as well in the 400 yard IM and the 100 yard breaststroke. Junior
Kyle Pietro (Huntington Valley, Penn.) also had a second-place mark in the 200 yard breaststroke finishing the event in 2:23.83.
The Owls will be back in action on Sunday as they host Connecticut College at 1 p.m.
