GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Nicole Hauser (Stevens Port, Wis.), Lauren McVey (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and Jade Black (Hudson, Ohio) of the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team combined for 20 kills in a losing effort against Adelphi, 3-0. The Owls' streak of three straight match wins was snapped in the process.

McVey led the offense with eight kills and five digs with two service aces followed by Black with seven kills and Hauser with five kills, nine digs and 11 assists. Sarah Beres (Ellington, Conn.) chimed in with four kills, two digs and another two blocks added to her season total. Kelly Gunneson (Cheshire, Conn.) had two kills and a block assist. Morgan Carman (Mesa, Ariz.) added 12 digs and two service aces, while Taylor Carlson (Centennial, Colo.) had 13 assists and four digs.

SCSU fell in straight sets by a score of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-21.

The Owls are now 13-7 overall and 3-4 in Northeast-10 Conference play.

The Owls will be back in action Friday Oct. 25 against SNHU scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
