SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Four players scored in double-digits but the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team was defeated by AIC at the buzzer, 74-73, in a Northeast-10 Conference game at Butova Gymnasium in Springfield, Mass.

Ricky Hudson hit the game-winning three-pointer as time expired for AIC.

The Owls snap a six-game winning streak.

Trevon Hamlet (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led SCSU (16-7, 13-6 NE-10) with 21 points, five rebounds and one block. Tylon Smith (Manchester, Conn.) posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds along with eight assists. Greg Langston (Stratford, Conn.) also had 13 points and seven rebounds while Stefon Williams (Jamaica, N.Y.)  chipped in 10 points.

AIC (9-14, 6-13 NE-10) had five players in double-digits led by Spencer Braithwaite with 17 points. David Campbell also had 14 points and seven rebounds. Ricky Hudson, Al Shabbaz jabeth and Jason Pierrier all had 10 points.

In the first half, the Owls went on a 10-0 run to take a 14-5 lead capped off by a jumper from Langston.

The Owls would open up the lead in the half and go up 25-12 after free-throws from Hamlet with 9:21 remaining in the half.

AIC would fight back next with a 9-0 run, and 11-2 overall, to get within 27-23 after a jumper from Campbell with 5:59 remaining in the half.

SCSU took a 34-25 lead into halftime.

In the second half,  AIC stormed back again with an 8-0 run to open the half to make it 34-33 and then would tie the game at 37 after a four-point play from Perrier with 16:42 remaining.

With the Owls up 47-44, AIC went on a 7-0 run to make it 51-47 with 12:42 remaining after Perrier's three-pointer.

AIC would go up 59-50 after a three-pointer from Braithwaite with 10:52 remaining.

The Owls went on a 7-0 run to get within 61-60 capped off by a jumper from Williams with 7:27 remaining.

The Owls would then tie it at 62 with a layup from Smith.

Trailing 69-65, SCSU tied the game at 69 with back-to-back shots from Deshawn Murphy (Hamden, Conn.) and Langston.

Smith would give SCSU a 72-71 lead with .51 seconds remaining after a three-point play with a layup and a free-throw.

After the Owls forced a stop the other way, SCSU got an offensive rebound and went to the line where Smith made the first of two free-throws, missing the second, to go up 73-71, with 1.1 seconds remaining.

AIC then called timeout before Hudson's three-pointer as time expired, assisted to Brennan Cooper.
