MANCHESTER, N.H. - An impressive five players in double-figure scoring tonight gives the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team the win against Saint Anselm in overtime, 89-79.
The Owls are now 7-8 overall, 3-6 in Northeast-10 play. Saint Anselm is now 9-7 overall, 5-6 in NE-10 play.

Taylor McLaughlin (Colchester, Conn.) led all scorers with 21 apiece.
Mariah Hankton (Upper Marlboro, Md.) was right behind them, posting 19 points along with five assists and four steals.
Keshia Primo (Mississagua, Ontario) recorded 17 points and three rebounds.
Nicole Grossbard (Pearl River, N.Y.) tallied 12 points and three assists.
Maria Weselyj (Marlborough, Conn.) contributed 12 points as well, along with two assists and two steals.
The Hawks jumped out to an early 7-0 lead over Southern. Southern proceeded to go on an 11-2 run, ending with a couple of free throws from McLaughlin, this pulled it to within one, making the score 16-15 with 12:22 left to go in the first half. A three-pointer at the 11:13 mark from Primo put the Owls ahead for the first time in the contest. SCSU goes into the break leading 45-40.
The Owls would lead up until the 11:51 mark when Saint Anselm would tie up the score at 55. Four ties toward the end of the period would be forshadowing of an overtime to come. Both squads would go into the extra period of basketball with 72.
McLaughlin scored eight of her 21 in the second half, but the most four crucial points would come in overtime. The Owls would gain the lead with 4:36 remaing in the game and would not give it up. SCSU would go onto win by a final score of 89-79.
The Owls will be back in action as they host Saint Michael's on Jan. 18. Tip-off for that game is set for 1:30 p.m.
