QUEENS, N.Y. - Many rookies on the Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming and diving team excelled in the dual meet against Queens College on Friday afternoon. The Owls won by a team score of 119-77.
Christian Berg (Groton, Conn.) was victorious in the 200 yard butterfly, finishing in 2:06.23.
In the 400 yard IM,
Dylan Swanepoel (Milford, Conn.) finished first with a time of 4:24.60.
Raymond Snyder (Waterbury, Conn.) placed first in the 200 yard freestyle (1:50.64).
On the diving board,
Stephen McCusker (Waterbury, Conn.) scored 211.43 points to take the top spot in the 1M dive.
It was not just members of the Class of 2017 to place highly at the meet.
In the 1650 yard freestyle,
Nick Blade (Seymour, Conn.) touched the wall first, finishing with a time of 18:28.70.
Domenick Errico (West Hartford, Conn.) placed first in the 200 yard backstroke (2:04.89).
Owls' swimmers took the top three spots in the 500 yard freestyle, paced by
Christopher Curtin (Wethersfield, Conn.) time of 4:59.05.
The Owls compete next tomorrow afternoon at home versus Le Moyne. The dual meet will begin at 12:30p.m.
