Box Score

RINDGE, N.H. - Greg Langston (Stratford, Conn.) and Tylon Smith (Manchester, Conn.) combined for 64 points as the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team earned an important Northeast-10 Conference road victory at No. 21 Franklin Pierce, 106-95.

Langston led all scorers with 33 points. The senior, who went 11-for-14 from the field, also grabbed five rebounds. Smith recorded 31 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

The Owls followed up a 110-point showing in a win over Stonehill on Wednesday with 106 points tonight. It's the first time since the 1974-75 season that SCSU hit the century mark in consecutive games.

Michael Mallory (Waterbury, Conn.) added 13 points for the Owls, while Stefon Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had 10. Deshawn Murphy (Hamden, Conn.) and Austin Carter (Bloomfield, Conn.) each had eight points.

The contest was a back-and-forth affair in the first half. However, a Langston bucket with 1:49 left in the first half gave the Owls the lead for good.

SCSU led 49-46 at the break. FPU scored the first bucket of the second half but would get no closer than three the rest of the way.

The Owls, who improved to 16-2, 10-2 NE-10, play next on Jan. 28 at Merrimack.
