Box Score GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - The No. 7 nationally ranked men's soccer team lost 1-0 to Adelphi on Tuesday night, dropping their second game of the year. The Owls fall to 13-2 overall and 10-2 in the NE-10 while the Panthers improve to 10-5-1 and 8-4.

The action was back and forth during most of the first half with Adelphi outshooting Southern 6-5. The Owls almost allowed a goal in the final seconds of the first half if it weren't for a blocked shot before it had the chance to reach Varonier in net. Southern came out strong in the second half, earning five corner kicks, but were unable to capitalize on any of them. The Owls gave up only two corners.
The Panthers outshot the Owls 13-9, but the teams were tied in shots on goal with four.
Southern Connecticut returns to action this Friday night at Franklin Pierce.
