Stefon Williams (Jamaica, N.Y.) chipped in 16 points and a career-high nine rebounds on 8-for-10 shooting. Senior
Tylon Smith (Manchester, Conn.) had 11 points and a game-high nine assists on 3-for-5 shooting, including a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arch. As a team, Southern shot 53.3 percent (38-for-71) from the field, including 48.3 percent (14-for-29) from three-point range, as nine different players scored at least three points. The Owls enter the holiday break with a 9-3 (4-1 NE-10) record, while Le Moyne drops to 8-3 (4-2 NE-10).
The Owls never trailed in the contest, grabbing their first double-digit lead at the 15:01 mark, going up 18-8 following three free-throws by Mallory. The Owls then blew the game wide open with a 19-3 run over the next 7:04, to hold a 41-18 lead. The 23 point advantage was the largest of the opening half.
Leading 48-32 at halftime, the Owls put the game out of reach with a 23-4 run over the first 6:30 of the second half. The run saw three consecutive three-pointers from Houston, including 11 straight points overall. A three-pointer by Smith got the lead to 30 for the first time at 66-36, followed by five straight points by Mallory and another Smith three brought the lead to 74-37. A Murphy three with 6:12 remaining gave the Owls their largest lead of the game at 91-51.
With 2:08 remaining, sophomore
Dominic Migliaro (Monroe, Conn.) drove the land and hit a layup while being fouled, and sank the ensuing free throw to bring the lead to 97-61.

Jose Cruz (Shrewsbury, Mass.) took a pass ahead from sophomore
Michael Bozzuto (Wolcott, Conn.) and dunked home two of his four points with 56 seconds on the clock. Sophomore
Jonathan Paul (Westlake Villiage, Calif.) then completed the Owls' scoring with a three-pointer of an assist from sophomore
Lucas Van Nes (Hamden, Conn.) to bring the score to its final of 102-66.

Following a 12-day holiday break, the Owls will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 3 when they travel to take on cross-town rival New Haven at 3:30 p.m.
