Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team hosted Le Moyne this afternoon, losing the contest in overtime, 63-60.
The Owls are now 12-10, 8-8 in Northeast-10 play. Le Moyne is 12-8 and 8-8 in NE-10 play as well.
Alex Marple of Le Moyne led all scoring with 19 points.
Freshman
Taylor McLaughlin (Colchester, Conn.) led all Owls scorers with 18 points along with six rebounds.
Jackie Beathea (Annandale, Va.) posted yet another double-double with 15 rebounds and 11 rebounds.
Keshia Primo (Mississagua, Ontario) tallied 15 points.
Sydni Lester (Teaneck, N.J.) chipped in seven points.

The score was close most of the first half until Le Moyne made a 8-2 run that opened up the lead for them. With 5:45 left in the half, Le Moyne had their biggest lead of seven. The Owls tied it up at 32 with 2:26 left in the half, followed by a miniature run to close out the first half leading Le Moyne 36-34.

The Dolphins came out with fire in the second half, tying the score back up at 38 with 16:46 remaining. The score continued to be back and forth, including six more ties in regulation. With 2:20 remaining in the second half, Le Moyne thought they had this game locked but a three-pointer from Primo and a made free-throw from Beathea tied it up once again, sending this contest into overtime.

The Owls had a hard time scoring during the overtime period while the Dolphins did not. A jumper by Marple quickly put Le Moyne ahead in the extra minutes. Le Moyne would not reliquish the lead after that, defeating the Owls in overtime by a final score of 63-60.
The Owls are back in action on Feb. 15 as they travel to Garden, City to take on Adelphi. Tip-off for that game is set for 1:30.
