Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Four different players scored a goal as the No. 10 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team opened Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday night with a 4-2 win over Bentley.
The Owls improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in league play with the win. Bentley is 1-3 and 0-1.
Southern Connecticut seized control early with two goals in a span of 3:31. In the 11th minute,
Daquan King (Plainville, Conn.) delivered a cross that ricocheted off a Bentley player right to
Mads Larsen (Trondheim, Norway), who fired a low strike into the left corner of the cage.
A few minutes later, it was King who found the back of the net off a feed from
Daniel Ruiz (Stamford, Conn.) to extend the lead to 2-0.
Ignacio Navarro (Norwalk, Conn.) padded the lead to 3-0 in the 42nd minute when he connected off a rebound.
The Falcons made a game of it with two goals in a span of 1:54 late in the first half, markers from Nicolas Ucros and Evan Hassett.
Both teams had opportunities in the second half, but the only tally came with 2:48 remaining.
Chae Brangman (St. George's, Bermuda) sent a cross from the right wing into the middle, where
Jonas Folstad (Trondheim, Norway) deposited his first goal of the year.
The Owls are back in action on Sept. 20 for a road game at Assumption.
