Then, the Owls will return home one Saturday to challenge the Franklin Pierce University Ravens in a conference clash at Moore Field House.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST THE SKYHAWKSStonhill College holds a 12-11 edge in the all-time series against the Owls.
LAST SEASON AGAINST THE SKYHAWKSDown three players due to injury, the Owls stepped up in its 79-77 victory over Stonehill on January 22, 2014. With eight minutes left to play, Southern went on a 13-3 run to make the score 61-52. The Skyhawks attempted to creep back in by scoring four three-pointers in the last minute and half, but the Owls ran away with the conference win.
ALL-TIME AGAINST THE RAVENSFranklin Pierce leads the all-time series against the Owls, 32-15.
LAST SEASON AGAINST THE RAVENSIn the first meeting against Franklin Pierce on January 25, 2014, the Ravens defeated the Owls on the road, 76-68. After clinching a spot in the NE-10 tournament, the Owls re-matched the Ravens in the first round, but concluded their season with a 74-66 loss to the Ravens.
NORTHEAST-10 SOUTHWEST STANDINGSDespite the loss to the Purple Knights on Saturday afternoon, the Owls remain at No. 3 in the Southwest Division standings. Adelphi and New Haven claim the No. 1 and No. 2 slots, respectively.
A QUICK LOOK BACKSouthern Conn. went 1-1 last week in Northeast-10 Conference action as the team defeated Saint Anselm College at home, 67-60, but earned its eighth loss of the season to Saint Michael's College, 74-73.

Chandler Williams had a career-night as the rookie recorded a career-high 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from long range.
DEFENSIVE LOCKDOWNIn the last three games,
Danielle Powell has recorded at least three blocks per game while tying her career-high six blocks against Bentley on Jan. 10. She is currently leading the team in the blocking category with 39.

Jackie Beathea has scored a 259 points as well as totaled a combined 922 career points. As of 1/19, she is 78 points shy of her 1,000 career point.

Danielle Powell are ranked among the Div. II leaders. Grossbard ranks 28th averaging 4.9 assists per game while Beathea leads the NCAA in offensive rebounds per game (6.0), is seventh in double-doubles (11) and ninth in rebounds per game (12.3). Powell is ranked 29th averaging 2.12 blocks per game.
ITS ALL ABOUT REBOUNDINGAs of 1/15, the Owls are ranked among the top 50 nationally Div. II programs in three statistical categories. The Owls are No. 15 in offensive rebounds per game (17.0), No. 47 in blocks per game (4.0) and No. 48 in defensive rebounds per game (29.0).
BEATHEA AMONG SCSU CAREER LEADERSJackie Beathea is sixth in the all-time career rebounding category with 663 rebounds and tied the single-game high of 19 rebounds on 11/19/14 at Adelphi.
BENCH SUCCESSSouthern Conn. has benefitted from increased scoring output from nearly its entire roster this season. The team has totaled 1240 points this season while 404 of those points come from off the bench.

DESALVO NOTEBert DeSalvo is in his first full season as head coach for the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team. Entering the season, DeSalvo had compiled a 99-26 (.792) overall record as a head coach.
