NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Southern Connecticut women's basketball standouts
Hope Fox and
Jillian Martin were both named to the Northeast 10 Conference Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by the NE10 on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. This is the first NE10 Academic All-Conference Honors for both Fox and Martin, in their careers.
Hope Fox had an outstanding season for the Owls, as she was ranked second in the NE10 in free-throw percentage with 85% and ranked third in the NE10 in steals with an average of 2.5 steals per game. Fox had the most steals in an NE10 game this season and the second-most steals in a single game in program history, with nine steals recorded in the 61-42 victory over Franklin Pierce. She played and started in all 31 games, with 307 points, 170 rebounds, 98 assists, 76 steals, 73 made free-throws and 11 blocks.
Fox was named the 2026 United States Marine Corps Most Outstanding Player after her impressive NE10 Championship Game victory performance against Bentley. In addition, she was named to the NE10 Conference Championship Team and earned the Elite24 Award, for the second time in her career, which is an award given to the student-athlete who has the highest GPA at the NE10 Championship. Fox also was named to the All-NE10 Conference Third Team and became the first player in program history to be named to the NE10 Conference All-Defensive Team.
Hope Fox holds a 3.89 GPA, while pursuing a degree in Exercise and Sport Science.
Jillian Martin had an outstanding season for Southern, as she was ranked third in assists in the NE10 with an average of 4.4 assists per game, ranked second in the NE10 in assist/turnover ratio with a ratio of 1.9 and led the NE10 in minutes played, with 1,081 minutes played this season. Martin dished out a career-best of 10 assists, twice this season, as 10 assists are tied for the second-most in an NE10 game this season. She played and started in all 31 games, with 216 points, a conference-best of 135 assists, 80 rebounds, 47 made free-throws and 37 steals.
Martin was named to the 2026 Northeast 10 Conference All-Championship Team after her fantastic performance in the NE10 Championship victory over Bentley. In addition, she was named to the All-NE10 Conference Third Team, for the first NE10 recognition of her career. She totaled a career-best of 21 points, as she made a career-best of eight field goals and five, three pointers in the victory against Post. Martin recorded her first career double-doubles against Mercy and American International.
Jillian Martin holds a 3.5 GPA, while pursuing an MBA in Management.
