NORTHEAST-10 SOUTHWEST STANDINGSFollowing Saturday's loss to cross-town rival New Haven, the Owls dropped to No. 3 in the Southwest Division standings. Adelphi and New Haven claim the No. 1 and No. 2 spot, respectively.
A QUICK LOOK BACK Southern Connecticut went 0-3 last week dropping to 7-7 overall and 4-3 in NE-10 Conference action. On Wednesday afternoon, the Owls snapped a six-game winning streak falling to Saint Thomas Aquinas, 63-61. The Owls opened up the new year with back-to-back losses to the Univ. of New Haven, 79-76, and the Univ. of Sciences (Pa.), 78-61.
DOUBLE-DIGITS ALL AROUNDFour members of the women's basketball team reached double-digits last week.
Jackie Beathea averaged a team-high 16.0 points and 13.7 rebounds, while
Mariah Hankton netted 11.0 points and tallied seven assists.

Sydni Lester each chipped in with 10.3 points and 10.0 points per game, respectively.
CAREER DAY FOR BEATHEAJackie Beathea recorded a career-high 28 points and pulled down 14 rebounds at St. Thomas Aquinas on Dec. 31.
BEATHEA NAMED CT ARMY NATIONAL GUARD/ SCSU FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEKJackie Beathea averaged 16.0 points and 13.7 rebounds per game in the Owls' three contests last week. She opened the week with a career-high 28 points and pulled down 14 rebounds at St. Thomas Aquinas. Beathea then added nine points and 16 rebounds against New Haven before closing the week with 11 points and 11 rebounds against University of the Sciences. Beathea now has 10 double-doubles on the year. She leads the Northeast-10 Conference in rebounds per game (12.2) this year.

Jackie Beathea are ranked among the Div. II leaders. Grossbard ranks 10th averaging 5.8 assists per game while Beathea leads the NCAA in offensive rebounds per game (6.0), is third in double-doubles (8) and 13th in rebounds per game (16.2).
ITS ALL ABOUT REBOUNDINGAs of 1/01, the Owls are ranked among the top 50 nationally Div. II programs in two statistical categories. The Owls are No. 47 in rebound margin (+6.6) and No. 16 in offensive rebounds per game (17.0).
BEATHEA AMONG SCSU CAREER LEADERSJackie Beathea is now tied in fifth in the all-time career rebounding category with 650 rebounds and tied the single-game high of 19 rebounds on 11/19/14 at Adelphi. She also has a total of 874 career points and is 12 points away from scoring her 1,000th career point.
BENCH SUCCESSSouthern Conn. has benefitted from increased scoring output from nearly its entire roster this season. The team has totaled 972 points this season while 308 of those points come from off the bench.
NE-10 WEEKLY HONORAfter her performance last week,
Jackie Beathea was selected to the Northeast-10 Conference weekly honor roll. This is her sixth time this season to be named on the honor roll.

DESALVO NOTEBert DeSalvo is in his first full season as head coach for the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team. Entering the season, DeSalvo had compiled a 99-26 (.792) overall record as a head coach.
