Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. -
Chae Brangman (St. George's, Bermuda) scored his third goal in two games for the Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team, but it wasn't enough as the Owls fell 2-1 to Bentley this afternoon.
The Owls are now 6-4-1 and 5-2-1 in the NE-10, while the Falcons improve to 6-5 and 5-3.
Brangman's goal came in the 70th minute when Southern Connecticut was down 2-0. Brangman took the pass in the middle of the box from
Christian Samaniego (Toronto, Ontario), created space with a spin and scored to the far post.
The Owls outshot the Falcons 12-8 and 7-2 in shots on goal. Southern Connecticut had trouble containing Nick Hoffman, who was involved in both Bentley goals.
The first came in the 25th minute. Hoffman took the ball up the left wing and passed it into the box to Scott Levy, who scored form six yads out.
Then Hoffman scored himself in the 51st minute. Marty Ryan headed a shot off the post, but Hoffman was there for the header off the rebound.
Brangman and
Louis Greenway Tambini (Nottingham, England) both tallied five shots, leading both teams.
The Owls are back in action Saturday when they travel to Saint Rose.
