The Owls won their ninth in a row and improved to 22-5 overall and 16-3 in Northeast-10 Conference action. Southern's win coupled with American International's loss today clinched the NE-10 Southwest Division crown for the Owls for the second year in a row.

Prior to the game, the Owls honored their three seniors – Smith, Luke Houston (Pearl River, N.Y.) and Jose Cruz (Shrewsbury, Mass.).

Desmond Williams (Torrington, Conn.) posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Michael Mallory (Waterbury, Conn.) also had 15 points. Houston and Deshawn Murphy (Hamden, Conn.) both had 12 points.
