Box Score WEST HAVEN, Conn. -
Louis Greenway Tambini (Nottingham, England) netted his third goal of the year in Southern Connecticut State University's 1-0 win over New Haven on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, the Owls improve to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the NE-10, while UNH falls to 3-4 and 0-3 in the conference.
Greenway Tambini, who transferred from UNH this summer, scored on a misplay by the Chargers' goalie Stephen Sasso.
Tyler Naef (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) attempted a through pass intended for Greenway Tambini that was picked off by Sasso. His attempt to clear the ball was misplayed, and Greenway Tambini was right there to put it away for his third goal of the year. That ties him
for fifth in the conference in goals scored with nine other players.
Southern Connecticut came out firing early. They had four shots, three of them on goal, in the first six minutes of the game. Overall, the Owls took 14 shots compared to five for the Chargers. Seven of the Owls' shots were on goal, three were on goal for UNH.
Southern Connecticut's next opponent is Franklin Pierce. The Ravens are currently 1-1 in the conference, but they'll play AIC on Wednesday night. The Owls split the season series against FPU last year.
