View Complete ResultsNEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming and diving team picked up a 121-107 win over Le Moyne at Hutchinson Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.
Tyler Steskla (Cheshire, Conn.),
Dylan Swanepoel (Milford, Conn.),
Tyler Vander Vos (South Windsor, Conn.),
Louis Geist (Arvada, Colo.) and
Raymond Cswerko (Torrington, Conn.) all earned first place finishes for the Owls in individual events, and
Selim Lemond (Oxford, Conn.) and
Giovanni Dauphin (Waterbury, Conn.) grabbed the top two spots in both diving events.
Vander Vos took first place in both the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.07 and the 200 yard backstroke at 2:03.34. Matt Demirs (Oakville, Conn.) placed third for the Owls in that event with a time of 2:10.62.
Steskla earned first place in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:18.01. Demirs finished fourth in this race at 11:27.38.
Geist grabbed first place in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:00.07.
Lucas Fanucci (Malvern, Pa.) finished fifth in that event at 2:09.85. Fanucci's highest individual finish was in the 500 yard freestyle where he came in second place with a time of 5:03.30. Geist also took second place in the 200 yard breaststroke at 2:22.09.
Drew Dantino (Waterbury, Conn.) came in fourth place at 2:32.56.
Cswerko finished the meet with a first place finish in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:55.77. Swanepoel took first place in the 200 yard freestyle at 1:45.96 and second in the 100 yard freestyle at 50.41.
Travis Burke (Downington, Pa.) finished right behind Swanepoel in the 100 yard free at 50.86.
Lemond earned first place in both the one and three meter diving events with scores of 231.23 and 282.45, respectively. Dauphin took second in both events, scoring 154.65 in the one meter dive and 146.63 in the three meter.
Cswerko, Geist, Burke and
Tyler Castellone (South Windsor, Conn.) made up the team that finished first in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 3:37.12.
Southern Connecticut returns to action on Friday, January 22 when it hosts Pace University at 5 p.m.
