OWLS CONTINUE NORTHEAST-10 PLAYFollowing a 1-1 week, the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team returns to Moore Field House for a Northeast-10 Conference battle with Assumption College before wrapping up week 11 with a road game at Bentley University.

SCOUTING BENTLEY• Bentley holds an overall record of 15-3 and a league record of 9-3, placing the Falcons first in the Northeast Division standings.
• At home, Bentley is 6-2 as well as shooting 43.1 percent from the floor, 38.4 percent from long range and 66.9 percent from the free throw line.
• The Falcons are currently on a three game winning streak.
• Bentley leads the conference in points per game (70.0), made three-pointers per game (6.9), three-point percentage (39.2 percent) and assists per game (16.2)
• Jenna Gemma leads the team and the league averaging 19.3 points per game and ranks second in the league with 10.3 rebounds per game.
ALL-TIME AGAINST BENTLEYBentley leads Southern Connecticut in the all-times series with a record of 22-11.
LAST SEASON AGAINST BENTLEYMaria Weselyj connected on a three-pointer with 4.7 seconds remaining in regulation to provide the margin of victory for the women's basketball team in a 65-62 triumph over Bentley.
WEEK 10 RECAPSouthern Connecticut recorded a 1-1 record last week after picking up a 82-56 win over Southern New Hampshire on Wednesday evening. However, the Owls fell to Franklin Pierce University on Saturday by the score of 72-58 .

BEATHEA MOVES UP IN SCSU RECORD BOOKAfter posting a combined 26 points last week for the Owls, senior
Jackie Beathea now ranks seventh (out of 20) in the all-time points category with 1,359.
BEATHEA REACHES 11 DOUBLE-DOUBLESOn Wednesday against the Penmem, senior
Jackie Beathea recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
MCLAUGHLIN RECORDS DOUBLE-DOUBLEFor the second time this season,
Taylor McLaughlin recorded a double-double against Southern New Hampshire with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

POWELL NAMED TO NE-10 HONOR ROLLDanielle Powell helped the Owls to a 1-1 week as she averaged 20.0 points per game while shooting 46.2 percent from the floor and adding 5.0 rebounds per contest. In a win against Southern New Hampshire, Powell registered a team-high 15 points, three rebounds and four assists before registering a career-high 25 points, seven rebounds and an assist in a loss at Franklin Pierce.
BEATHEA SETS NEW SCSU SINGLE GAME-HIGHIn the win against the Eagles,
Jackie Beathea set a new SCSU single game-high in rebounds with 22. She posted 10 rebounds in the first half and 12 rebounds in the second half.
BEATHEA RECORDS 1,000 CAREER REBOUNDOn January 2, 2016,
Jackie Beathea recorded another major achievement as an Owl as she recorded her 1,000th career rebound at Le Moyne. Following this accomplishment, she now leads SCSU in the all-time records books in rebounding.

LYNCH NOTEKate Lynch '08 begins her first full season as head coach for the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team. Lynch has compiled a 81-65 overall record as a head coach. Lynch remains the all-time leading scorer in Owls' history (1,779 points) and ranks fifth all-time in rebounds (650).

LOOKING BACK ON THE SEASON THAT WASThe Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team closed the regular season with 14 wins and qualified for the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament. The Owls had one student-athlete recognized by the league with year-end honors.
BEATHEA NAMED ALL-NE-10For the third year in a row,
Jackie Beathea earned All-Conference honors after an impressive season as she led the Owls in scoring with 384 points and rebounds with 323. She also recorded 16 double-doubles.
AMONG THE NE-10 LEADERSAmongst the returners, the Owls had three players finish in the top five of Northeast-10 Conference participants in four categories.

Jackie Beathea finished No. 1 in rebounds per game, pulling down 11.1 per contest.
