WALTHAM, Mass. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's volleyball team fell on the road to Bentley University, 3-0, in a Northeast-10 Conference showdown at the Dana Center on Saturday afternoon.
OFFENSIVE ATTACK LEADS FALCONS
Behind a .275 hitting percentage and team-high 18 kills in opening set, Bentley defeated the Owls 25-18 to take the early 1-0 lead.
FALCONS SOAR OVER OWLS
Bentley extended its lead to 2-0 after soaring past the Owls in set two, 25-11.
SO CLOSE, BUT NOT ENOUGH
Southern Connecticut led for the majority of the third set, 18-15, but Bentley fought back ending the final set and match with a 7-4 run, 25-19.
STAT BREAKDOWN:
- Sophomore Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.) led the Owls offense with 13 kills, seven digs and a block.
- Junior Alexandria Jurgens (Cornwall, N.Y.) and senior Faith Ford (New Britain, Conn.) collected a team-high three blocks in the loss for the Owls.
- Southern Connecticut finished the match with a .050 hitting percentage while the Falcons recorded a .267 as a team.
- Junior Alexandra Nimz (Littleton, Colo.) collected a team-high 17 assists while freshman Anna Venard (Thornton, Colo.) registered 12 digs.
