Florent Girarden scored the first goal of the game for the Panthers at the 47:49 mark to take a 1-0 lead. Adelphi continued its scoring load with a goal from James Thristino in the 70th minute to give the Panthers a commanding 2-0 lead. But the Owls clawed its way back in the game with a goal from sophomore

Zak Wright (East Haddam, Conn.) in the 84th minute to trim the deficit, 2-1. Junior
Sabri Akter (Unionville, Conn.) would score the equalizer in the 86th minute to force overtime.Â
