SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's volleyball team fell to Northesat-10 Conference foe American International, 3-1, on Tuesday evening at the Henry Butova Gymnasium.
SO CLOSE, NOT ENOUGH
With the score tied at 19-19, American International closed out set one with a 6-1 run to take the 1-0 lead over the Owls.
CHAMBERS SECURES SET TWO FOR OWLS
Junior
Alexandria Jurgens (Cornwall, N.Y.) was able to set up freshman
Jillian Chambers (Shelby Township, Mich.) with the set-winning kill to tie the match at 1-1.
AIC CLAIMS SET THREE
Southern Connecticut could only play catch-up in set three as the Owls fell 25-15.
OWLS EDGED BY AIC IN FINAL SET
Southern Connecticut was unable to stop American International's offense from taking the third and final set, 25-19.
STAT BREAKDOWN:
- Junior Sean Taylor (Kent, Wash.) recorded an impressive night as she tied her career-high in blocks with seven.
- Southern Connecticut held a 10-9 edge over American International in blocks.
