The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team opens the 2016 campaign with two neutral site games this weekend at Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y. The Owls open against Dominican College on Thursday and follow it up with a game against No. 9 nationally ranked LIU-Post on Saturday.

The Owls lead the all-time series against the Chargers with a record of 4-0-2, with the last game being a 1-0 victory to open up the 2015 season.

Head coach Tom Lang has named Christian Samaniego and Alex Soriano team captains for the 2016 season.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB
The Owls welcome 12 newcomers to the squad for the 2016 season, including graduate student Danilo Andrade, juniors Lucas Saunders and Morrice Baker, and freshmen Blaise Haba, James Foster, Connor Bradley, Jan-Malte Thesenvitz, Alex Ramirez, Devante Teixeira, Zak Wright, Kyle Baron and Ian Shannon.

LOOKING BACK AT 2015
The Owls finished the 2015 season with a 9-7-1 record and qualified for the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament.

ON DECK
SCSU is back in action on Sept. 10 for their Northeast-10 opener at LeMoyne.
