Greenway Tambini Scores In Double Overtime; Owls Defeat AIC, 2-1

Tambini scored his second goal on the year in a 2-1 double overtime win versus AIC.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team defeated American International College this evening in double overtime, 2-1.

TEAM RECORDS: SCSU (4-3-1,2-2-1 NE-10); AIC (4-5, 2-3 NE-10)

FIRST HALF
Jake Durham scored the first goal of the game in the fifth minute off an assist from Alejandro Alvarez, to give AIC an early 1-0 lead.

SECOND HALF
Owls' senior Christian Samaniego (Toronto, Ontario) tied the game up at 1-1 at the 51:07 mark, off a break away shot.

DOUBLE OVERTIME
Junior Louis Greenway Tambini (Nottingham, England) connected on a game-winning goal in the 107th minute, to give the Owls a 2-1 victory. Tambini's goal was assisted by freshman Jan-Malte Thesenvitz (Rostock, Germany).
