NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Junior Jerry Luckett, Jr. (Milwaukee, Wisc.) notched his sixth double-double on the year, pouring in a game-high 24 points along with 10 rebounds in a 89-65 win over Merrimack College this evening.

FIRST HALF
The Warriors grabbed an early 13-7 lead with 15:42 to play in the first half, after a Ryan Boutler 3-point shot. Senior Kayjuan Bynum (Springfield, Mass.) would spark the Owls comeback with back-to-back baskets, trimming the deficit, 13-11. Sophomore Joey Wallace (Rochester, N.Y.) would tie the game for the Owls at 15 all, with a jumper at the 12:40 mark. The Owls would grab its first lead of the game after a Luckett, Jr. jumper midway through the first half. SCSU stretched its lead to 13 in the closing minute of the half. The Owls would go on to hold a 44-31 halftime lead. Luckett, Jr. led all first half scores with 13 points along with six rebounds.

SECOND HALF
The Owls' offense would continue in the second half, shooting 61.5 percent from 3-point range on 8-of-13 shooting. Sophomore Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.) shot a career-high seven 3-point shots (six in the second half). SCSU would grab its largest lead of the game, 89-65 en route to its 12th win on the year and eighth in NE10 play.
