Michael Mallory (Waterbury, Conn.) led three Owls in double digits with 28 points, but host Southern New Hampshire used a strong second half surge to defeat the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team, 95-79, this evening.

The Owls held a 45-39 lead at the break, but the Penmen went on a 9-2 run out of the intermission and never trailed again.
Jerry Luckett, Jr. (Milwaukee, Wisc.) posted his seventh double-double of the year with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.) had 16 points, 14 of which came in the opening half.
BIG RUN TO SEIZE MOMENTUM: Trailing 14-7 just about seven minutes into the game, the Owls went on a 24-7 spurt to build its biggest lead of the game at 31-21. The Penmen used a 7-0 run late in the half to cut the game to a one-possession contest, but Mallory hit a three-pointer in the waning seconds of the first half to build a six-point lead at the half.
PENMEN MATCH THE FEAT: SNHU's early second half run gave it the lead for good and the hosts slowly extended their lead for the rest of the contest.
