Taylor McLaughlin (Colchester, Conn.) scored all 19 of her points in the second half as the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team earned a 58-50 victory at Southern New Hampshire this evening.

McLaughlin narrowly missed a double-double with nine boards and also had three steals, two assists and a block.
Amanda Pfohl (Trumbull, Conn.) also reached double figures with a career-high 11 points off the bench.
FIRST HALF…HOW IT HAPPENED: The Owls used a dominating second quarter in which they outscored the Penmen by an 18-5 margin to take a nine-point lead at the break. Pfohl had eight points in the opening half, while
Paige Decker (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) added seven.
HOLDING OFF A RUN: SNHU hung around in the second half. In fact, an 8-0 spurt by the Penmen late in the third quarter gave the hosts a 35-33 lead. Then, with the game tied at 39-39 late in the frame, Pfohl knocked down a three-pointer, and the Owls never trailed again.
