WORCESTER, Mass.  – Senior guard Michael Mallory (Waterbury, Conn.) led three Owls in double digits with 19 points as the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team collected a 67-60 victory at Assumption this evening.

TEAM RECORDS: SCSU (14-6, 10-3 NE10) | Assumption (5-14, 4-9 NE10)

Jerry Luckett, Jr. (Milwaukee, Wisc.) contributed 18 points and seven rebounds, while Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.) had 16 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Mallory also handed out a team-high seven assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The Owls scored the first five points of the game, but Assumption followed with a 27-12 run to build its largest lead of the contest at 27-17. Southern Connecticut answered by closing the opening stanza on an 18-6 run for a 35-33 lead at halftime.

Assumption did even the game at 45-45 just over five minutes into the second half, but other than that brief tie, the Owls led the entire way. SCSU led by as many as nine and the rest of the way and went on to the seven point win.
