Michael Mallory (Waterbury, Conn.) scored 21 of his game-high 24 points in the second half as the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team overcame a 17-point lead to defeat Stonehill College, 73-64 this afternoon.

FIRST HALF
The Owls' offense got off to a strong start, where they built an early 7-1 lead in the opening minutes. The Skyhawks grabbed its first lead of the game, 14-12, off a Logan Ryan three-pointer at the 12:15 mark. The Owls headed into the half trailing, 41-24.
Jerry Luckett, Jr. (Milwaukee, Wisc.) led the Owls in scoring with 10 points along with three rebounds.
Kayjuan Bynum (Springfield, Mass.) recorded four points along with three rebounds.
Michael Mallory tallied three points, three rebounds and two assists.Â
THE SECOND HALF COMEBACK
Down by 11 at the 12:41 mark, the Owls went on a furious 14-0 run that gave them a 58-55 lead with 6:38 to play. SCSU would close out the game with a 15-9 run, securing its 11th win on the year and seventh in NE10 play.

After his 24-point performance this afternoon, Mallory has upped his scoring average to 23.8 ppg, placing him in a 10th place tie in Div. II scoring.Â
