HOW IT HAPPENED
Both goaltenders stood tall during regulation where collectively they made seven saves to force extra time. After a scoreless overtime period, the game needed a second overtime period to find a victor.
At 106:09 Merrimack broke the tie scoring off a header to claim the victory.
